A dream will come true for a Leopold couple who won $2.5m in Tattslotto on Saturday.

The pair, who wished to remain anonymous, held one of eight division one winning entries nationally in Tattslotto draw 4499.

So far in 2024, there have been four division one winning entries in the Geelong and southwest region, collectively taking home more than $19.92m in prize money.

One half of the winning couple told The Lott officials she felt “emotional” knowing her bank account was about to be boosted by millions of dollars.

“I only thought we had four of the winning numbers on our ticket but when I scanned it, it came up with all six and I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

“It’s been a bit weird, we feel weird.

“We live a very lucky life, and we’re so grateful for this win.”

The woman said they had always talked about owning a beach house.

“It’s been a dream of ours, and now we’ll be able to achieve this dream,” she said.

“We haven’t had time to celebrate because we’ve been so busy, but don’t get me wrong, it’s on the cards.”

Their winning entry was purchased at Leopold News and Lotto.

Owner Peter Russell said the team was excited to have sold their first ever division one winning entry since owning the outlet for more than 12 years.

“It’s super exciting,” he said.

“We’re a community outlet and most of the customers who visit us are locals.

“It means that someone out there in our community is celebrating a wonderful win.

“We will be letting all of our customers know about the division one win and we know they’ll be over the moon to hear their local outlet had sold a winning ticket worth $2.5 million.

“On behalf of the entire Leopold News & Lotto team, we would like to wish our newly-minted multi-millionaires all the best with their prize and thank them for supporting their local newsagency.”

The winning numbers in Tattslotto draw 4499 on Saturday were 6, 39, 15, 20, 32 and 4 while the supplementary numbers were 30 and 1.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 298 so far in 2024, including 112 won by Tatts customers.
