One Geelong resident certainly thinks so, and he claims to have video evidence to prove it.

Simon Eden, of East Geelong, has been left “utterly bewildered” after accidentally capturing what appears to be an Australia Post employee placing mail under the windscreen wiper blades of vehicles along Davey St.

The only problem is, they don’t belong to the intended recipients.

“The bloke has been too lazy to get off his bike and actually deliver them to the mailbox,” he said.

“It is beyond belief. I have never seen anything like it.”

Mr Eden was alerted to the events by a resident on the street before rushing inside to check his home security footage.

The video shows what appears to be a man driving an Australia Post electric vehicle slowing down to place envelopes on the windscreen of a SUV.

“It was my neighbours mail, they are away on holidays,” Mr Eden said.

“The car is unrelated to the mail and it happened along the street.

“I actually had to laugh when I saw the video, he could have just parked and actually used his legs to put the mail, you know, in the mailbox.”

Mr Eden has complained to Australia Post, which is investigating the incident.

“Australia Post takes its responsibility to deliver for the community seriously and has strict protocols in place for team members when delivering letters and parcels,” a spokesman said.

“We are looking into this as a priority.”

The postal giant has replaced most of its motorbikes with electrical delivery vehicles to help reduce emissions.
