Geelong’s club Chin Chin will be staying put for at least an extra year after finding success at the Cattery.
Located in the new Joel Selwood Stand at Kardinia Park, the Asian-fusion restaurant was initially promoted as 12-month pop-up.
But local love for the establishment means Club Chin Chin will be hanging around until at least May of 2026.
Restaurateur Chris Lucas said it was a dream to “bring Chin Chin to my hometown”.
“Especially at the home of my beloved Cats – so I always knew I wanted to stay in Geelong for more than one year,” Mr Lucas said.
“The response from the local community in the last year has been incredible, and the energy within the restaurant on game days has always been unmatched.
“We’re thrilled that we can continue to serve up Chin Chin classics at GMHBA Stadium for another year.”
When the restaurant opened in May, it already boasted a waitlist of 5000 and 132,000 Instagram followers.
Mr Lucas said it was the biggest engagement they’d ever had on their social media feeds for the opening of any of his Lucas Group restaurants.
Geelong Cats chief executive Steve Hocking said the club was “thrilled” to retain the restaurant.
“With its renowned menu, we’re excited for locals and visitors to the region to enjoy the unique dining experience at Club Chin Chin every week of the year,” Mr Hocking said.
Club Chin Chin is open from 6pm Thursday, from 12pm Friday and Saturday, and from 12pm for lunch on Sunday.
Reservations can be made online and walk-ins are welcome.
