A woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl outside a Hamlyn Heights school.

A Bell Park woman has been charged after allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl outside a Geelong school.
Police allege the woman physically assaulted the girl, including kicking her, at 3.15pm on Monday.
The incident occurred outside the Western Heights College on Vines Rd in Hamlyn Heights.
“Officers arrested the 35-year-old woman at her Bell Park address on Tuesday,” a police spokeswoman said.
“The girl sustained non-life-threatening injuries.”
The woman has been charged with affray, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, unlawful assault, and assault by kicking.
She is due to face Geelong Magistrates’ Court on March 21.
A Department of Education spokeswoman said support had been offered to the students involved at Western Heights College.
“The safety of staff and students is paramount,” she said.
“We have zero tolerance for violence at schools.”
Students have only returned to the classroom for the 2025 school year in the past week.
