Inverleigh star Ryan Robertson is facing a significant suspension for his brutal bump on Team of the Year midfielder Jahd Anderson in the Hawks’ grand final win.

Anderson ran onto a long hitout from Hawks ruckman Luke Wilson in the opening play of the game and was floored by Robertson, who came at full pelt off the square with a high bump that left Anderson concussed.

The Thomson superstar was down on the ground for several minutes before being stretchered off.

He then walked to the bench with the help of trainers appearing groggy and did not return for the remainder of the match.

Robertson was yellow carded for the incident in Inverleigh’s 63-point that is sure to come under heavy scrutiny from the league’s match review.

The Hawk came off clutching his shoulder after a late bump from a Thomson player in the second half and was booed and jeered by some fans when he received his premiership medal post-match.

A match review grading of intentional, high impact and high contact would see Robertson suspended for three weeks with a guilty plea, sidelining him for the early rounds of next season.

But a ruling of severe impact would mean the incident is sent straight to the tribunal with a possible ban of up to five matches.

Best-on-ground medallist Jarrod Love said post-match that he didn’t see the incident but wished Anderson all the best in his recovery.

“Obviously he got carried from the ground and you don’t like to see people carried from the ground. I hope he recovers well and they can hold their heads up high, they played a hell of a season,” Love said.
