“(They’re) set to provide more convenient and accessible rail travel for one of Queensland’s fastest growing regions,” he said.

Construction has commenced with lift shafts being installed, station platforms constructed and fit-out including roof canopy installation underway.

Mr Newtown said the station had been designed to meet the needs of the local community.

“With enhanced features across the station to make using the facilities easier, Hope Island is a station designed for all and will expand options for travel not only in and around the Gold Coast, but also north to Brisbane,” he said.

“It’s great to see strong progress made on all three sites on the Gold Coast as these stations continue to come to life.”
