The NT Government has moved quickly to dispel claims that a student has been stabbed at Katherine High School.
It follows a Facebook post that spread like wildfire raising alarm among the community.
“Just letting the community know there was a child stabbed at KHS today,” the post read.
A spokesman for Education Minister Jo Hersey, who is also the Member for Katherine, said the claims have been investigated and neither police or the Education Department had a stabbing reported to them.
“We investigated immediately and as far as we can ascertain there was a fight in a male toilet block but definitely no stabbing,” the spokesman said.
