THE Territory’s best nurses and midwives will be recognised this year at the annual Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards.
This year however will acknowledge both this year’s and last year’s award winners after COVID-19 impacted the awards in 2020.
Acting Chief Nursing and Midwifery officer Mish Hill said the awards celebrated the hard work of nurses and midwives across the NT.
“Nominating a nurse or midwife you know is an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ and recognise the amazing contribution that nurses and midwives make to the community.

The 2021 Award Categories are, New to Practice Nurse/Midwife of the Year, Flinder’s University Award for Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Education, Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Research/Quality Improvement, Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Leadership, Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery Aboriginal Health, Team Award for Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery, Client Appreciation Award for Excellence in Nursing/Midwifery, NT Administrator’s Medal for Lifetime Achievement in Nursing/Midwifery and Nurse/Midwife of the Year.
Nominations are open now and run until Sunday February 21 and can be submitted at: nmea.nt.gov.au
