Australia's vaccine rollout delays: what happened?

HEALTH Minister Natasha Fyles said the NT is not stockpiling COVID-19 vaccines and that all the vaccines being delivered are being used.

Ms Fyles made the comments on ABC radio following concerns about the speed of the vaccine rollout around the country.

“My advice is we’re using every vaccine that’s coming into the Territory,” she said.

She also said the NT had vaccinated “pretty much” all frontline workers and a total of around 9000 vaccines had been administered so far.

It comes after the NT News obtained figures that revealed that the NT had only administered 53 per cent of the vaccines it had been given.

Opposition Leader Lia Finocchiaro expressed concerns about the pace of the NT’s vaccine rollout.

“The health, safety and economic survival of Territorians is dependent on the vaccine rollout happening as fast as possible – there is no time to waste,” she said.
