A GROUP of five young medical professionals has been found safe after going missing while travelling to an outback Territory camping spot

UPDATE 12.45pm: A GROUP of five people — all believed to be young medical professionals — who were reported as missing in the outback near Alice Springs, has been located safe and well by Northern Territory Police.
It is believed the group. who left Alice Springs on Saturday evening. inadvertently took a wrong turn and ended up driving 5km in the dry river bed of Hale River before their vehicle became bogged.
The group was found walking out from the area on the Ruby Gap Park road during aerial search efforts on Monday.
Three of the people returned to Alice Springs on the search helicopter.
Two returned with the vehicle once authorities assisted in recovering it.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Police, Fire and Emergency Services said they would like to remind anyone considering future hiking or camping in and around Central Australia to invest in an EPIRB prior to undertaking any remote travel.
EARLIER: A GROUP of five people — all believed to be young medical professionals — has gone missing while travelling from Alice Springs to a nearby camping spot.
According to NT Police, the group of four women and one man – aged between 25 and 30 – left Alice Springs at around 5pm on Saturday to drive to the Ruby Gap Nature Park.
Gabrielle Freedman, 29, Shaygun Narula, 27, Haydn Dodds, 29, Renae Walker, 31 and Jessica Kolic, 29, are believed to be travelling in a white Toyota Hilux with a canopy and NT registration 653-414.
It is unknown what provisions the group took with them.
They were supposed to meet another group who were already at Ruby Gap but failed to arrive.

Alice Springs Watch Commander Darrell Kerr said their absence was said to be “completely out of character” and the members of the party have jobs to return to on Monday.
Mr Kerr said a search and rescue co-ordinator were assessing the situation and began a search on Monday. .
Police urge anyone with information as to the groups whereabouts, to call them 131 444 or report it anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00.
