PARAMEDICS have taken a child to hospital after they were struck by a van in the outer suburbs of Palmerston.
St John Ambulance Territory duty manager Craig Garraway said paramedics were called out to four crashes on Monday, including an incident where a child was hit by a vehicle in Yarrawonga.
“We did have a van that hit a young child, but thankfully they didn’t have serious injuries,” he said.
“We did transport the young person to hospital for assessment, but it potentially could have been a lot worse.
We’re just about to come into school holidays, so we all probably need to be a little bit more aware of what’s going around with more kids around.”
He said paramedics also responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Bagot Rd.
“Someone’s run across the road and collided with a vehicle and rolled across the bonnet,” he said.
