A pilot has miraculously walked away from a plane crash on the northern Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Finglas Rd in Woongoolba just after 9am on Friday.

A Gold Coast police spokesman said a 39-year-old female pilot was the only person onboard.

“Initial information indicates that around 9.10am, a light plane completed a controlled landing into canfields north of the airfield after failing to take-off,” the spokesman said.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed paramedics assessed the woman, who escaped from the crash uninjured and did not require transport to hospital.

Police confirmed the incident had been referred to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for further investigation.
