It means Edge Hill United has locked in a shot at a third straight treble with five rounds left to play.

“It’s obviously a great feeling,” O’Hare said. “We’ve always said winning the league is the number one priority.

“It’s the best trophy to win as you prove yourself as the best team over the season. I’m super proud of our player and our club.

“We’ve been pretty dominant all season I think it’s fair to say, and to have won the league with five or so games to play is a great achievement.

“I’m proud of the boys.”

O’Hare credits the club’s culture for their continued success, as he sought to create and foster a successful environment.

“From the start we’ve tried to make a good environment for the players,” O’Hare said.

“We’ve got a great mix of experience and younger guys coming into the group. the togetherness between the group is what makes us a great team.

“We’re good friends on and off the pitch, we all work really hard together during the week, and that starts in January.

“It is just a really special group, we’ll celebrate winning this league but we also there’s more work to be done and more trophies to be won.”

The Tigers’ Premier League rivals should not expect O’Hare to take his foot off the pedal.

O’Hare has flagged how players will be managed heading towards the finals and their tilt at another treble, with potential for players to be rested. But the player-coach is driven to bring more success to the club.

“The priority s always getting the players fit and healthy for the finals, so we have the luxury to rest players when needed and making sure we’re 100 per cent by the time the finals come around,” O’Hare said.
