It was recently named Best Small Bar in the Northern Territory, now Dock One Bar has expanded it’s horizons at the Darwin waterfront – literally.
The bar and restaurant has been so popular since opening it has added a massive new deck. The extension was completed in time for Territory Day and the results is more seating, even bigger waterfront scenery to enjoy from the viewing deck, and major space to enjoy your favourite catch-ups, long lunches, and events.
An instant hit courtesy its prime position overlooking Stokes Hill Wharf and Fort Hill, Dock One Bar and Food is part of the growing empire of Darren Lynch and his business partners, which includes Virginia Tavern, Wharf One, The Precinct Tavern and Bella Bar.
Courtesy the nifty cantilevered design, patrons are able to sit out over the harbour and enjoy their favourite drink with a meal or tapas, seven days a week.
Lynch also owns the 00 Seven Jetski Adventures below Dock One Bar.
In fact it was this venture which spawned Dock One Bar.
He said Dock One Bar started with the idea of having something small to support the jetski customers when they finish on the skis and having a home base or headquarters for that operation.
“We’d planned to have a small 20-foot container with a basic service, but once the idea got to the architects it grew and now we have two 40-foot containers and a deck overlooking the ocean,” he said.
“We started out small and ended up large, which is what most buildings do.”
