Darwin crime: Man, woman hospitalised following hit and run

A driver who allegedly struck two people unpacking their groceries remains at large, with police urging the public for information.

About 7.05pm on Friday, police say a man and woman were removing groceries form their parked vehicle on Leanyer Drive when a white vehicle drove at them.

Police say the vehicle struck the pair and fled the scene immediately.

It has been reported the woman suffered serious injuries while the man’s injuries were assessed as minor.

Both were treated by St John Ambulance before they were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for further medical treatment.

Police are investigating whether a white Yaris or Getz hatchback with a missing side mirror may have been involved.
