GREEN may just be the next colour of coffee, with environmental solutions company Green Caffeen launching its new keep cup in Darwin to help reduce waste and costs.
Mad Snake Cafe and Moscow Market are the first two businesses signed up to the cup-sharing program, which provides keep cups to customers to use and return to participating cafes to clean and put back into their stock, while saving customers and businesses money.

Mad Snake owner Sam Weston said it was a great idea to help cut waste and could revolutionise the Darwin cafe industry.
“Imagine if me, the guys next door, the guys next to them all did these cups and didn’t have to use disposables any more,” he said.
“How good is that going to be.”

The Green Caffeen system will save 240 cups, $72 and 3.6kg per year in waste for the average customer, while 30 customers would see a $2160 saving for the business.
Mad Snake is also reducing the price of coffee by 50c to those using the Green Caffeen cups.
Users will have 30 days to return cups to a participating cafe before they are charged.
