THE Rebels bikie gang Darwin president has walked free from court after pleading guilty to assault charges.
Lee Wiffen, 48, was arrested and jailed for about a month in September last year before appearing in Darwin Local Court on Wednesday to plead guilty to two counts of aggravated assault and one count of contravening a domestic violence order.
The court was closed while Wiffen’s lawyer Peter Maley made submissions on his client’s behalf. Wiffen was sentenced to nine months’ prison suspended immediately and a 12-month good behaviour bond.
