Drivers of two stolen cars have allegedly led police on two separate chases overnight.

Watch Commander Greg Pusterla said about 12.50am, police on patrol in Wulagi found a stolen car and when they attempted to seize it, the driver allegedly bolted, leading to a five minute pursuit around Casuarina and surrounding.

He said the car was finally stopped on Lakeside Dr and two youths were being considered for youth diversion as a result

While about 2.45am, he said, police on Jenkins Rd in Bees Creek saw a vehicle that had been linked to property crime.

Watch Cmdr Pusterla alleged the car didn’t stop and police began chasing.

He said the car was stopped five minutes later by a tyre spikes, with the alleged offenders running into nearby bushland.

Watch Cmdr Pusterla said the owner was unaware their car has been stolen and suspected stolen property was found in it.

Alice Springs Watch Commander Shaun Furniss said that in Alice Springs at 2.15am, CCTV cameras caught three cars being broken into on Leichhardt Tce.

He said the suspects were soon found and police hoped to locate the car owners today.
