Murray Smalpage appointed as new NT Police Deputy Commissioner

THE new NT Police Deputy Police Commissioner has been announced

WEST Australian police officer Murray Smalpage APM has been appointed as NT Police Deputy Commissioner.

Currently the WA Police Force Assistant Commissioner of Professional Standards, Mr Smalpage has had a broad career in forensic science services, state intelligence, and operational accountabilities.

He was also the Assistant Commissioner and Commander for regional Western Australia.

In the past he has led a sworn police force of 1500 officers, more than 100 staff, and was responsible for managing 124 police stations.

NT Police Commissioner Jamie Chalker said Mr Smalpage’s experience in remote, regional and CBD policing, and his background in professional standards and strategic abilities, would be invaluable to developing capability of the Northern Territory Police Force.

“I congratulate Mr Smalpage on his appointment,” Mr Chalker said.

“His experience and personal style will be an asset to the agency.”

Mr Smalpage will begin his new role on February 24, joining Michael Murphy APM as Deputy Commissioner.
