A MAN and a woman have been injured in a violent attack in which a man allegedly hit them with a hammer in Darwin
A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged over the incident which occurred on Saturday at the couple’s Moulden house about 9.30pm.
It’s understood the man has undergone surgery and is in a stable condition at the Royal Darwin Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said the woman was hit with the hammer and kicked several times during the alleged incident. She was also taken to RDH.
The man allegedly assaulted the man and woman with a hammer at their address around 9.30pm.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The 47-year-old has been charged with two counts of aggravated recklessly endanger life and two counts of making a threat to kill.
He was refused bail and is due in Darwin Local Court today.
