Don’t miss the NT News’ special liftout commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cyclone Tracy – honouring the resilience and stories of Darwin’s recovery.

In this special liftout, featured in the Saturday, December 21, 2024 edition of the NT News, you will read stories of the Territory’s fighting spirit, as told by those who survived Cylone Tracy.

In the edition, you will read stories from people who survived on the ground, hunkered down in their homes – from a former politician, a young boy who is now a leader for the survivor community, a freshly-minted pilot who steered the first flight of evacuees to land in Alice Springs, and stories of families who evacuated, and returned to begin the relentless work to rebuild Darwin to what it is today.

With so many stories, an additional commemorative edition of the NT News featuring more Cyclone Tracy content will also be published on December 26.

That edition will include a Cyclone Tracy pullout poster.
