Man arrested after alleged attack on taxi driver in Coconut Grove

November 13, 6am: A 20-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly stole a taxi.
Northern Watch Commander Sean Patterson said the man had entered the taxi in Coconut Grove as part of a group about 11.35pm Tuesday.
Sergeant Patterson said the group allegedly began “talking about robbing the driver” before one of the passengers punched the 24-year-old driver in the face.
He alleged the group demanded money from the driver, who managed to escape the vehicle.
Sergeant Patterson alleged the group then drove the taxi to an address in Coconut Grove - with the driver’s mobile phone still inside the vehicle.
He said a bystander recognised the driver of the vehicle and called police.
Sergeant Patterson said police located the 20-year-old man and arrested him, and the Serious Crime Squad was investigating the incident.
Children arrested after alleged stolen car stopped by cops
November 11, 7am: Three children have been arrested after they allegedly stole a car from a Palmerston business and attempted to steal others.
Northern Watch Commander Sean Patterson on Monday morning said the vehicle was allegedly stolen from a Yarrawonga industrial premise overnight.
Sergeant Patterson said police pursued the alleged car thieves from Palmerston to Berrimah where they were able to stop the vehicle and arrest three occupants aged 12, 13, and 14.
He said Strike Force Trident was investigating the incident.
