A FESTIVAL in light begins in Alice Springs tonight and the world-class event is set to leave an impression.

Parrtjima, a 10-day event that runs until September 20, showcases one of the world’s oldest cultures through some of the newest technologies.

With 2km of the MacDonnell Ranges illuminated and several large-scale installations arranged in formation around Alice Springs Desert Park, Parrtjima is set to provide an inspiring, enriching experience that leaves attendees enchanted.

NT Major Events Company CEO, Tim Watsford said Parrtjima is like nothing you’ve seen before.

“If you have the slightest chance to attend this year, do it. You will not regret it, and you will remember it for the rest of your life. It really is that kind of experience.

“The strength of feeling people have for Parrtjima is clear by the demand we’ve seen for our

Todd Mall program of events, which have a waitlist.

“This is great news for Alice Springs, wherebusinesses will also benefit from the number of people out and about experiencing Parrtjima.

“There are still plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the incredible light shows, which lie at the very heart of Parrtjima, so register now to secure your spot at Desert Park.”

This year again includes a program of events in Todd Mall. As Mr Watsford said, due to popular demand, at present these events have a waitlist.

If you have registered for an event you can no longer attend, please cancel your booking so someone else can enjoy the magic of Parrtjima.

Some of the items on the program will be delivered in a slightly different format this year in line with Parrtjima’s COVID-19 Management Plan.

For example, the Deep Listening talks with Tracey Holmes and Stan Grant will take place via a live cross from a studio in Sydney, as Holmes and Grant are unable to travel to the Northern Territory due to border restrictions.

Springs Desert Park light shows, visit www.parrtjimaaustralia.com.au.
