A WOMAN has been arrested after she allegedly lit fires at two businesses in Alice Springs overnight.

NT Sourthern command senior sergeant Adrian Kidney said police responded to a fire outside Desert Rose Inn on Railway Tce at 11pm on Monday.

“CCTV captured a female lighting the fire then walk across the road to Red Rooster where she lit another fire in the carpark,” he said.

“Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire at Desert Rose.

“The fire was at the base of a large power box.

“Fortunately it was extinguished before it took hold causing moderate damage.”

A 33-year-old female was arrested at the scene and conveyed to the watch house.

She is currently in custody assisting police with the investigation.
