THREE people have been arrested for allegedly carrying a weapon after “anti-social” behaviour erupted outside the Epilogue Lounge and Rooftop Bar in Alice Springs on Sunday morning.
NT Police Commander Craig Laidler said tensions escalated in the Todd Mall following reports that patrons from the venue spilt outside and into the adjacent area in the early hours of Sunday morning.
“At around 1.05am, Northern Territory Police received a report of a large disturbance near Todd Street, involving two groups that were engaged in anti-social behaviour,” he said.
“Three people have been arrested for carrying a weapon in a public place and disorderly offences.”
Cmdr Laidler sent a warning to others looking to replicate Sunday morning’s antics in the future.
“This is unacceptable conduct from those involved in the incident,” he said.
“Police have a zero tolerance approach to violence, and anyone engaging in any of this type of anti-social behaviour will face prosecution.”
It is believed the fight was primarily between 15 to 20 people.
Some parties in the group allegedly had weapons including a wheel brace and a shovel.
The alleged offenders were between 18-30.
Police attended the incident but it is unknown at this stage if any arrests were made.
