Second crime scene established for second stabbing as young adult male stabbed and killed in Karama overnight
A young adult male has been stabbed and killed in an overnight incident at Karama. A second, related crime scene has been established where a woman was understood to have been stabbed.

UPDATED 3.30pm: An NT Police spokeswoman said Kalymnos Dr, which was closed last night for the investigation into the stabbing death of a man, has reopened.
UPDATED 9.30am: The man killed in a stabbing incident in Karama overnight was 20 years old, while a woman who was also injured nearby was aged 25, NT Police has revealed.
In a statement issued on Thursday morning a police spokesman said the stabbing was reported by security guards near a shopping centre just before midnight.
“St John paramedics attended and located a 20-year-old male in critical condition,” he said.
“The man was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital, however, was pronounced deceased upon arrival.
“A 25-year-old female was also taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with significant injuries to her stomach and remains in a serious but stable condition.”
A witness, who did not want to be named, said he helped the woman after she ran to his aid, saying she had stab like marks all over her body and back.
He described the weapon as being a serrated bread knife.
The road is still expected to remain closed for several hours.
EARLIER: Two adult males are in custody in relation to an incident overnight in which a young adult male was stabbed and killed.
NT Police are on the scene and have blocked off roads in the area and the body of the male has been removed from the crime scene.
The incident is believed to have occurred just after 11pm overnight.

There are road closures in the area, including along Kalymnos Drive.
Police said they were “currently responding to an incident in Karama. Road closures are currently in place on Kalymnos Drive and are expected to remain for several hours.”
“Please avoid the area if possible and obey all instructions by traffic controllers,” they said.
NT Police confirmed the person killed was an adult male.

“We can confirm an adult male died in a serious assault last night,” NT Police said in a statement.
“It was not a child as some socials are reporting.
“Road closures in place as investigations carried out, please avoid the area this morning.”
Paramedics were called to the incident on Wednesday night.
Karama has been plagued by crime problems in recent months.
Police have had a stronger presence in the area since March.
The crime crisis around Karama has been spoken about for several months and has become a political football.
Only last week, the Karama/Malak Community Voice Group said crime and anti-social issues plaguing the area won’t go away unless the core issues are addressed.
The situation reached tipping point when aerosols were stripped from shelves after youths turned to inhaling the contents.
The stabbing death comes less than a month after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed and killed in Yirrkala.
