UPDATE 3.19PM: POWER and Water said an underground cable fault caused a power outage across the suburbs of Araluen, Flynn and Larapinta in Alice Springs on Tuesday.
A spokeswoman said the cable has been repaired and power restored.
UPDATE 2.30PM: POWER has been restored to suburbs of Araluen, Flynn and Larapinta in Alice Springs after an hour and a half long outage over midday on Tuesday.
Power and Water advised the issue was resolved at 2.10pm.
It is unknown what caused the outage.
EARLIER: RESIDENTS in numerous suburbs of Alice Springs are experiencing a power outage.
Power and Water have advised on their website the power interruptions are affecting areas of Araluen, Flynn and Larapinta.
Crews are patrolling lines.
The power has been out since 12.50pm and it is unknown when the power will be back on.
Temperatures since then have been in the low 30s, according to the weather bureau.
