Police calling for witnesses in relation to a toilet block fire in Tennant Creek

Police are investigating a fire which emanated from a toilet block in Tennant Creek.

POLICE are investigating a fire which emanated from a toilet block at Peko Park in Tennant Creek.

A report the toilet block was on fire was made to police around 1.20am on Sunda.

Minutes later, police received another report of a small rubbish fire on the cricket pitch at Purkiss Reserve.

Police have not discounted that the two fires are related.

Both fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Sergeant Paula Dooley-McDonnel said crime scenes had been established at both locations and investigations are underway.

“Police and Fire investigators are seeking assistance from anyone who may have information that may help the current investigation,” she said.
