THE STREETS of Alice Springs have been splashed with a vibrant new look following the conclusion of the town’s second street art festival.
Six new murals by local and interstate artists have given the town new life, while paying homage to the stunning Red Centre landscape and local community.
Festival project manager Tamlyn Neck said feedback on the new artworks had been “overwhelmingly positive”.
“They’ve all definitely added a bit of a spark and vibrancy to the town,” she said.
“I feel like they’ll bring a bit more joy to the CBD along with the other artworks that are currently up from the 2018 street art festival.”
Ms Neck said there was a range of techniques used for the different murals.
“There’s been a real mix of styles and colours, using spray paints, acrylics, you name it,” she said,
“It’s nice to have some variation to all the pieces – no two pieces are the same.”
She said she hoped the festival would continue to build and become an annual event for the town.
“There’s no shortage of walls around here,” she said.
