Earth Sanctuary director Dan Falzon said the views of the galaxy from the Red Centre “are one of the greatest natural wonders on Earth”.
“The Milky Way, our majestic central river, appears to pop out of the sky on dark nights, a visual and dimensional spectacle you must see in your lifetime.”

Arts Minister Chansey Paech confirmed festival-goers were already anticipating the event.
“Excitement is building for Dark Skies Festival, which shows this event strikes a chord with people,” he said.
The event will take place from May 6-14 at the Earth Sanctuary in Alice Springs.
