NT government announces new commissioners Jason Schoolmeester and Andrew Cowan to support investment and major projects

TWO new hires have been announced by the Territory government in the investment and major projects space, with the intention to drive the NT economy to $40 billion by 2030.
Jason Schoolmeester will take on the role of the Territory’s Major Projects Commissioner.
Andrew Cowan will continue as the Territory’s Investment Commissioner, following more than three months in the interim position.
Mr Schoolmeester has held key leadership positions in the Territory over the past decade. During this time, he has worked to drive economic and industry development initiatives in energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, aquaculture, mining, defence and national security and space.
Mr Cowan has extensive experience delivering complex projects and driving strategic government priorities, most recently for Investment Territory, national security and defence and regional development.
The Territory is home to about $11 billion worth of major projects, and there is about $35 billion worth of planned and proposed projects that are also in the pipelines.
These roles are a part of the Territory’s approach to winning investment to support the Territory’s economic growth.
