A NEW tool showing the current and forecast demand for power is now available to Alice Springs residents to help manage the impacts of sometimes-unstable power supply.
With the rapid growth in solar power usage by residents and businesses, the new tool has been designed to help operators as well as residents to better plan and manage the changing power system across the Territory.
Minister for Essential Services and Renewables and Energy Eva Lawler said the tool would support the government’s 50 per cent renewable energy target.
“We want Territorians to have access to the latest and best technology as we build a stronger and more resilient power system for Territory households and businesses,” she said.
