THREE bystanders intervened to protect a woman who was being attacked by her partner in the Alice Springs CBD in broad daylight.
A 28-year-old woman was left with a cut eye after the incident in front of the Yeperenye Shopping Centre entrance on Hartley Street on Monday afternoon.

The woman ran onto the road to avoid being assaulted but the man allegedly chased her, grabbed her and fthrew her to the ground.
Three members of the public intervened to end the man’s alleged attack on the woman.
Residents flagged down a passing police officer and the 30-year-old man was arrested.

The man has been charged with aggravated assault and breach DVO.
He was due to appear in court on Tuesday.
