It is important for three of the teams playing in the two KFC A-grade games to win on Saturday in Alice Springs.

For the fourth, Federal Trusty Glass, winning has become as natural as sticking the bibs on their uniforms and it is a surprise if they don’t.

A win for Seasons Complete Fencing & Steel Deals will be a huge confidence boost going into next week’s semi-finals where they would come against the same opponent in the elimination final.

If Rovers Complete Construction win the game they will have a great chance to finish the minor round in second position and so have the double chance in the finals.

Wests Gillen Club will hold onto second place if they can defeat, or draw with, Federal. As mentioned before this would be a surprise but surprises do happen.

All this makes for an exciting final week of the KFC Alice Springs Netball Association minor round.

Seasons has the least at stake and it is just as well as there has to be some doubt whether Mai Segi can play and if she does, it can be at her matchwinning potential.

Segi’s battles with Rovers champion goal keeper Tracey Meekings have been one of the highlights of the season.

The return of Bec Miller will be welcomed by Seasons as it will allow Keialah Satour to return to her best position in defence.

Rovers have been the most settled side in the competition and this has been founded on the defence where Tegan McClure and Trinity Klarenbeek have been solid support for Meekings.

When their attacks, from defence to goal, are “on” they are based on slick, clean ball movement.

Rovers should win this game.

Federal will be too strong for a Wests team struggling to get a winning combination on court.

No side has lost the talent Wests has this season and even though Ebony Miller made a welcome return to the court last week, she can only play in one position at a time and it will take a while for her to get back into netball mode and for her teammates to become used to her play again.

Federal has quality players from Tahlia Lee in defence and Tegan Hatzimihail in attack and plenty in between.

Seasons will play Rovers with Wests taking on Federal from 3pm.

Both games will be in the stadium at the Pat Gallagher Netball Centre. Admission is free.

Tickets are on sale at the ASNA office for the end of season presentation night, being held on Saturday, August 31.
