Ghan passengers ordered into isolation, taken to Alice Springs’ Todd quarantine facility
Twenty southbound passengers aboard the Ghan are now in isolation at the Todd Quarantine Facility in Alice Springs.

TWENTY southbound passengers aboard the Ghan are now in isolation at the Todd Quarantine Facility in Alice Springs, a Health Department spokesman said.
The quarantine facility would usually be reserved for international arrivals, but the spokesman said no other suitable accommodation was a available.
NT Health said an additional 32 passengers from Greater Melbourne and Bendigo on board the train travelling through South Australia to the NT have been made to bus back from Marla to Adelaide.

SA Chief Public Health Officer Professor Nicola Spurrier some passengers on board had visited several of the Victoria exposure sites.
“There are a number of people on the Ghan who have been at high-risk exposure sites, my understanding is they would require quarantine in Alice Springs and then my team has been working through the rest of the passengers,” she said.
“I can’t tell you the exact plans, but I know people within SA Health have that under control.”
A spokesman for Journey Beyond, which runs the Ghan rail service, said its staff were working with state government authorities and passengers that were impacted.
