A MAD frackers’ tea party popped up in Alice Springs on Election Day to protest against the major political parties’ positions on fracking in the Territory.
Partygoers dressed up in mad hatter theme and refashioned themselves as political candidates Dale Wakefield, Robyn Lambley and Damien Ryan.
One attendee who wanted to go by the pseudonym of ‘Dondale Frackfield’ denounced the policies of Labor, Territory Alliance and the Country Liberal Party.
“A vote for Labor is a vote for poisoned water, a vote for making mining mongrels richer and making average Territorians worse off,” she said.
