Four teens arrested after allegedly breaking into businesses in Alice Springs

A GROUP of teenagers aged 15, 16 and 17, will front the Youth Court after allegedly breaking into and stealing from numerous businesses in Alice Springs at the weekend.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged in relation to the unlawful entry of two businesses in Sadadeen, where police allege two female youths broke into a business on Sadadeen Road where they stole soft drinks and lollies.

Shortly the same two youths, along with two others, allegedly broke into a nearby service station and stole cigarettes, mobile phones and confectionary.

Police located a 15-year-old girl, along with most of the stolen items at a property nearby.

Police will allege during the arrest she kicked out at an officer, striking him in the leg.

She was taken to the Alice Springs Watch House and charged with damage to property, stealing, assault a member of the police force and unlawful entry – building.

She will appear before court at a later date.
