Central Australia residents will experience a very slight reprieve from the heat later this week when temperatures drop a couple of degrees.

It comes after very hot daytime conditions which have been felt all last week.

Residents were treated to an epic sunset on Sunday afternoon as clouds moved across central districts, bringing with them some scattered showers.

A southeast change developing over Central Australia will bring slightly cooler

temperatures this week.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster, Sally Cutter, said the Lasseter district saw some isolated showers and storms over the weekend.

“Going forward we are looking at a couple of quiet days but in the latter half of the week we will see and increase in showers and storms throughout the Papunya area.
