It was love – and a healthy dose of our iconic Central Australian red dirt – in the air when close to 16 million viewers in the United States tuned into the final two episodes of The Bachelor US recently.

Airing March 9 – 10, viewers of the ABC Television Network in the United States were treated to romantic Red Centre adventures, with the value of the exposure across the United States estimated at more than $189 million.

Filmed over seven days, Acting Minister for Tourism, Sport and Culture Eva Lawler said the Northern Territory provided 640 room nights in Central Australia, employed 68 locals in roles such as drivers and assistants, and used more than 20 local businesses across production.

“The United States visitor market is huge for the Territory – 42,000 US visitors spent $83 million in the last visitor results for the year ending September 2019,” Ms Lawler said.

“The Territory’s Red Centre is an ideal place for a romantic adventure with the series showcasing the NT as a must-see destination when visiting Australia.”
