IT’S official – Katie Harder and the Artful Dodgers have announced they will be going on tour next month.
The Far to Go Yet tour is named after Katie’s latest album, and will officially kick off on April 4 at the Darwin Railway Club.
They will then perform at Katherine Sport and Recreation Club, Timber Creek Hotel, Yarralin community and Tennant Creek Hotel.
While at Yarralin, Katie will be also working with the youth program running music workshops for everyone interested.
The tour will be finishing at Monte’s Lounge in Alice Springs from 4pm on April 13.
The acoustic folk rock band will also be performing a pre-tour warm up performance at the Gap View from 8pm on March 28.
“I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be full on,” Katie said.
“If I didn’t have a baby on board as well it’d probably be less stressful in my head but I’m pretty excited to have this opportunity.
“ I’m excited to be playing to new audiences — I feel like my music is quite Australian and lots of people can connect with the tone and the lyrics.”
“I’m really hoping we get a decent amount of people to our gigs so we can interact and have fun and introduce them to my music.”
Originally performing as a solo act, Katie’s style is best described as a fusion of mellow country, blues and soul. She uses her music to portray a beautifully laid back collection of stories.Hailing from Melbourne, Katie has been writing and playing music for over 10 years and has an EP, two albums and a single already under her belt.
Last year the talented singer/song writer joined up with the Artful Dodgers, a local band made up of Alex McClean on the bass, Dean Opie playing the electric guitar and Joe Relic on the drums.
Artback NT are assisting Katie plan and coordinate her first Territory wide tour which will give audiences a great taste of things to come, and will increase Katie’s profile while supporting original music.
