Ergon crews are working to restore power to 1000 Tablelands and Cape York residents, including a public school, on Monday, with delays expected due to weather conditions.
An Ergon spokesman confirmed crews had worked overnight to restore power to customers in Almaden, Chillagoe, Dimbulah and nearby areas.
“Weather is hampering restoration efforts. We have got some customers back on line. We apologise because it could take some time to restore the 1000 remaining customers today,” the spokesman said.
“Crews are also working to restore power to a handful of customers in Bloomfield, Cooktown and Rossville. We had some success restoring the majority of customers overnight, but the remaining customers – including the Bloomfield State School – could be without power for some time today.”
The cause of the outages are unknown.
