Police have suspended the search for a missing fisherman after finding the body of a 49-year-old man at Kurrimine Beach.
On Wednesday morning police officers were joined by SES crews in the search for Lower Cowley man Adam Muir.
Initial information from police indicated the man was fishing from his boat just north of the Kurrimine Beach boat ramp at around 2.30pm on Monday before he returned to shore after experiencing engine trouble.
Mr Muir’s 5m tinnie was found 8km north of the boat ramp on Tuesday.
And after a short search on Wednesday police located Mr Muir dead on the beach a short distance away.
It’s understood Mr Muir got swept out to sea in rough weather and drowned.
There’s no evidence to suggest he was attacked by a crocodile.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following the sudden death.
Police stated the death was being treated as non-suspicious.
