Man hospitalised after Kuranda Range Road crash

The Kuranda Range Road has been reopened to traffic, however motorists may face delays.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman confirmed the range was open in both directions, but warned motorists may experience delays.
It comes after reports a man had been rushed to hospital following a single-vehicle crash, blocking traffic on the Kennedy Highway on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the Kuranda Range Road at 1.20pm, a Queensland Fire and Emergency spokesman confirmed.
“We had one crew there. It was a single-vehicle rollover near the (Henry Ross) lookout,” the spokesman said.
“There was a bit of smoke coming from the car, but no fire.”
The spokesman confirmed two people exited the vehicle, and the driver was attended to by Queensland Ambulance Service crews.
“Looks like there was another person in the car, but they’re no longer on scene,” he said.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed a male patient was transported to Mareeba hospital.
Queensland Police Services confirmed traffic on the highway had been reduced to one lane, with delays expected.
