On Tuesday a truck driver allegedly responsible for pileup was charged.
Emergency services were called to the major incident on the Kuranda Range about 4.10pm on Monday, involving 10 cars and a truck.
Police allege a 46-year-old Manoora man was driving a prime mover towing a trailer, when the truck collided into the back of a line of stationary vehicles which had stopped at a road works red light near Rainforestation.

The driver was detained for additional drug tests after he allegedly recorded a positive roadside test.
He was charged with one count each of driving without due care and attention and drug driving and is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 5.
After shutting at 4.33pm, the Department of Transport and Main Roads advised at 5.55pm on Monday the road had reopened but to also expect further delays.
At the time of the crash on Monday afternoon, a Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed crews were responding and motorists warned of lengthy delays.
“It looks like quite a few vehicles were affected, but amazingly, no one was hurt,” the spokeswoman said.
Last night a QPS spokeswoman confirmed crews will be on the ground to assist traffic.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed crews were responding to the incident.
