A global tech company that’s set up its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Queensland has revealed how AI can help regional businesses win more contracts.

AutogenAI has developed world-first technology that helps enterprises produce grant bids within minutes rather than days.

Asia-Pacific chief executive of AutogenAI, Emma Crichton, described the service as “knowledge management done at a level of efficiency that’s never been done before”.

“If you were a maritime engineer at the moment, bidding into any of the opportunities in Defence, for example, any of the AUKUS agreements, it’s likely that you’ve anticipated the opportunity pre the release of the RFP (request for proposal),” she said.

“So you could be feeding your library all the relevant corporate collateral in relation to the bid.

“Then on the release of the RFP, you would be at first draft within a matter of minutes.

“Normally that would take a sophisticated bid team a week to get to that point.”

AutogenAI technology has the potential to save its customers a significant amount of money while also helping them win more work, Ms Crichton said.

“We estimate that 10 per cent of any tender procurement costing is taken up in bid-writing costs,” she said.

“So for example, a $100m procurement opportunity – there’s $10m gone in bidding.

“It means better solutions for the taxpayer. When tasks are taken care of by generative AI the human is pushed up the cognitive hierarchy to spend more time on critical thinking (to create) better solutions.”

Gold Coast-based Ms Crichton said the Far North was home to many “big hitting organisations”, describing the region’s location as the Gateway to the Pacific as an advantage in the evolving geopolitical climate.

“We’re talking to a lot of American organisations that base themselves in Queensland for the opportunities that exist through government spending given South China Sea and other bilateral issues that are facing the region,” she said.

“These are big, competitive tenders and it’s important work.”
