Fallen tree cleared after blocking traffic in both directions on Kennedy Hwy

Authorities have cleared away a blockage on a highway in FNQ.

A tree that blocked traffic in both directions on the Kennedy Hwy west of Kuranda Range Rd, between Barron River Bridge and Rainforestation Nature Park, has been cleared.

“I can confirm the tree was removed earlier this morning,” a DTMR spokesman said.

Emergency services crews discovered the blockage about 7.30am and immediately called for further assistance.
