Man in his 40s declared dead at scene of Trinity Beach incident

Emergency services have provided an update following an incident involving an unresponsive man at a Far North beach.

Emergency services were called to a water-related incident north of Cairns early Saturday morning, where a man was declared dead at the scene.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said crews were called to post immersion incident at Trinity Beach about 8.58am, Saturday.

She said one patient was treated for life-threatening injuries off the waters at Vasey Esplanade, Trinity Beach.

A Queensland Police spokesman said officers would be preparing a report for the coroner following the non-suspicious death of a man in his 40s.

“Emergency services were called after the man was pulled unresponsive from the ocean at Trinity Beach around 8.50am where he was declared deceased,” the spokesman said.
