Driver of alleged stolen car arrested with gun and meth in Mackay after Cairns traffic stop
A woman who police allege dragged an officer down the road while attempting to flee a roadside drug test in a stolen car has at last been apprehended 600km away in Mackay.

A woman accused by police of dragging an officer down the road while attempting to flee a roadside drug test in a stolen car has at last been apprehended.
A joint investigation involving detectives from Mackay and Tully charged a 43-year-old woman following an incident involving a stolen vehicle in Mount Sheridan on April 7.
Police allege an officer from Cairns Highway Patrol was conducting a Roadside Drug Testing on George Cannon Drive in Mount Sheridan.
The driver of the vehicle initially complied with the direction for a RDT but when the officer indicated her driver’s licence was disqualified things went awry, according to police.
She then sped off from the traffic stop in a grey Toyota Kluger bearing Queensland registration 838 IH6.
While driving off a police officer got stuck in the vehicle and was dragged 10m down the road.
The officer was treated at a medical facility for road rash described by police as minor injuries to the Highway Patrol member’s arms and legs.
The woman continued driving and following an investigation was tracked to a motel in Mackay.
On May 3, Mackay detectives raided a Nebo Road motor-inn and arrested the 43-year-old.
During a search of the motel room officers located a rifle, a quantity of methylamphetamine, drug utensils, ammunition and other illegal items.
The stolen Toyota Kluger was located by police on April 8 at a Millaa Millaa address.
A 43-year-old Carruchan woman was charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs exceeding schedule 3, possessing utensils, authority required to possess explosives, unlawful possession of weapons, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, enter dwelling and commit, unlawful use of motor vehicle, driving of motor vehicle without a driver's licence, fail to remain at a place and serious assault police officer causing bodily harm.
She was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on July 16.
