A 24-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged robbery of an elderly woman in Cairns.

A woman has been arrested for the alleged assault of an elderly woman in Cairns.
Police will allege a 24-year-old Manoora woman followed the 75-year-old into an Earlville business at 4pm on Wednesday, April 9.
It is understood the pair spoke and the elderly woman offered the younger woman a bus ticket.
The Manoora woman then assisted the elderly woman, who was using a walker, off the bus before allegedly following and then assaulting her and stealing money from her walker.
The 75-year-old was knocked to the ground in the alleged assault and received medical treatment for cuts, bruises and abrasions.
The Manoora woman has been charged with one count of robbery with violence and will appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on Friday, April 11.
This comes after police released photographs of a woman they believed could assist with their investigations on Thursday, April 10.
