Shaking Australia out of a “repression and control cycle,” while ending a “propaganda spiral and authoritarian control” will be the focus of a controversial US political commentator this week.
Former Fox News columnist and political talk show host Tucker Carlson has joined forces with Aussie billionaire Clive Palmer for the Australian Freedom Conferences.
Presented by Mineralogy, the speaking sessions with Mr Carlson and Mr Palmer will visit Cairns, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne from June 21 to July 1.
The Cairns seminar on June 21 at the Cairns Convention Centre is the first event on the national circuit.
Mr Palmer said the tour would focus on “waking up Australia” to encourage the joining of a fight to protect personal freedoms, truth and democracy.
“I am very pleased to be bringing Tucker Carlson to Australia,’’ Mr Palmer said.
“Through his Tucker Carlson Network and other hosting roles with some of the world’s largest news outlets, Tucker has long advocated that news coverage in the West can be wrongly used as a tool of repression and control.
“He believes democracy cannot function properly in a society such as this and the only solution to ending the propaganda spiral is by telling the truth about things that matter without fear.”
According to Mr Palmer’s office tickets sales in Cairns and all-round Australia are going “very well”.
A conservative political commentator and Donald Trump supporter, Mr Carlson is known for promoting conspiracy theories about the pandemic, Ukrainian bioweapons and the 2021 attack on the United States Capitol Building.
He said he looked forward to teaming up with Mr Palmer in what will be his first visit to Australia.
“I’ve admired Australia all my life and watched carefully from across the world as its government became authoritarian during the Covid insanity,” he said.
“I could hardly believe it. I still can’t, I know many Australians feel the same way, and I’m excited to meet them.”
Mr Palmer in February said he contributed $2.5-$3m toward a court case that successfully challenged the lawfulness of workers being directed to get vaccinated.
He claims to have set a worldwide precedent after a decision was handed down in the Queensland Supreme Court that found workers were unlawfully directed to receive vaccines or face potential disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
